ONE CHOICE
CAN TRANSFORM YOU

Hello again! Today I have a fun packed post. I’m pretty excited for this book review! (Which is why I chose to have it be first.) I’m going to be reviewing the book Divergent, which is on my favorite books list and I am completely a fan of! I have taken many quizzes on it, looked up memes (which I highly recommend not doing if you don’t want spoilers) and have watched MANY behind the scenes videos.

I am 100% a fan.

So here it goes: my Divergent book review. YAY!

Genre: dystopian

Age: young adult

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Okay! Let’s start with the rating. I rated it 4.5 stars out of 5 stars for a couple reasons. One: A book always has room for improvement. This is true for everything. There is always a way you could make something better. Second: There are a lot of swear words, but that isn’t my real reason I rated it the way I did. I guess I kinda just used this as an excuse to tell you that there are swear words. Oh well!

Here is the summary for the book:

“In Beatrice Prior’s dystopian Chicago world, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is—she can’t have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles alongside her fellow initiates to live out the choice they have made. Together they must undergo extreme physical tests of endurance and intense psychological simulations, some with devastating consequences. As initiation transforms them all, Tris must determine who her friends really are—and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes exasperating boy fits into the life she’s chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she’s kept hidden from everyone because she’s been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers unrest and growing conflict that threaten to unravel her seemingly perfect society, she also learns that her secret might help her save those she loves . . . or it might destroy her.”

Sound good? Because it is! I hope the summary made you want to read it more.

Here are the basic facts a new reader should know:

  1. It is a young adult book and has many swear words and other dirtier stuff…
  2. There are movies. (the book is better in my opinion)
  3. There are 487 pages.
  4. It is a dystopian novel. (I love this type of genre)
  5. Takes place in the future.

Do you want to read it now? Good. I hope you will! In later posts, I will be doing a faction quiz. Yay! If you read the book, you will know what I am talking about. That post will be a fun post and I can’t wait to be able to post it soon. I also might write a fan fiction based on Divergent. If you can convince me enough.

Overall, I highly recommend reading this! It is a fun, adventure packed, action book that captured my attention from the very start. One of my overall favorite books! Thank you for tapping into this post and can’t wait to hear from you guys of what you think about it!!

See you next time fans!

-Spoilers Rule-

The worst feeling I have ever felt is a book being spoiled. Anyone else agree? I want to make sure that doesn’t happen to any of you! If you are going to spoil, please make sure you name what book, and give a header. Then put your spoiler down a bit in your comment that way someone doesn’t read it right after the title. Like this:

-SPOILER DIVERGENT FIRST BOOK-

(Spoiler here)

I give room so someone doesn’t accidentally read the spoiler. I’m just hoping to protect you guys from having anything spoiled.

Thank you and have an AMAZING day!
