Hiya folks!!! The Imagine Blog Tour train has stopped at AFH once again but this time we have a very special guest!! Before I introduce her, I’m going to scream for just a moment because:

*endless celebrations*

Happy Dance GIF - Happy Dance Crocodile GIFs

Y’all, it’s been a crazy journey for both authors and editors! We’ve had happy moments, we’ve had sad moments, we’ve had this-is-rough-I-am-not-a-real-author-moments. Our publishers, (shout-out to the gals at TWN) have been working so hard these past months to make this dream come true! Since June, we’ve been writing, editing, submitting, editing, posting, crying (for good reasons), dancing, editing, blog touring (yes, that’s a real word), and finally, PUBLISHING!!

Let’s cue that book cover and blurb again because they both are so AMAZING!!

It’s time to imagine…

Such a small word for such a huge impact it has. Every great story begins here—at that moment after the idea but before the story is completed. The spark. The vision. The idea that will expand into a story that clings to readers’ hearts for a lifetime. An author’s story is limited only by his imagination, and how far he is willing to go to breathe life into characters. To build the foundations of another world. To see the struggles and envision the victories. To search for the magic burning in the darkness.

Teen Writers’ Nook presents a collection of short stories and poems from talented young authors that will take you beyond the boundaries of your mind. From snarky protagonists to the tear-jerking sacrifice. From mystical fantasy worlds to indescribable sci-fi stories. Thrilling adventures, daring choices, inspiring messages, heartfelt romances, and everything beyond. Maybe—just maybe—these tales will have you journey past reality and to the depths of your imagination. Will you take the risk and embark through the pages of this book?

Featuring work from Alaine Darkwood, Alexa Peterson, Allie Jo Andersen, Chloe B. Christensen, Faith Elizabeth, Grace A. Johnson, Grey S. Park, Linyang Zhang, Lissa Johnson, Lorelei Angelino, Penelope Rugan, Selah Sigmon, Victoria Crooks, and V. L. Smith!

Click here to buy the paperback or the e-book!

And now, it’s time to introduce you to the special guest(s)!

*drum roll*

PENELOPE RUGAN!!!!! *cheers* *applause* THANK YOU SO much for joining me here!!! Penelope’s an amazing, thoughtful gal and her short story, Hidden Magic, is FABULOUS y’all! FABULOUS!! I LOVED IT SO MUCH! *more applause* And today, Penelope will be character interviewing a special friend from Hidden Magic! Let’s give it up for Penelope and Sylvie! *even more applause*

*passes around popcorn* 😉 *curtains open*

(Sylvie is in bold, Penelope is in normal text, and Chloe’s questions are in Italic!)

*forcibly drags out Sylvie*

Are you sure this interview is necessary, Penelope? Like, you couldn’t just talk about me and call it good? I’m sure you could think of something to tell everyone.

Yes, I am very sure that it’s necessary. It’s kinda how interviews work. And it’s going to be a lot of fun!

You aren’t getting out of it.

Fine. But we will be talking about this later.

*elbows Slyvie* Great! Thank you for your cooperation. Now, before we start, we owe a HUGE thank you to the AMAZING Alexa for letting us use her blog!!!

Do I actually have to-

YES! She volunteered to let us use her blog and I need you to not make her regret it. You need to make a good first impression on people and I don’t have the means to bribe her to let us continue if you keep acting like this. Or, I guess I could just have Zev interviewed instead-

NO, no-

I’m sure he would really enjoy knowing that-

Okay, okay, I’ll go along with the interview. You didn’t need to bring Zev into this.

Well you can rub it in his face when we’re done, now, if you’re finished, will you please thank Alexa?

*dramastically sighs* Thanks, Alexa.

For letting us use your blog. Can we get started now? I’ve kinda got something else going on-

Yes we can get started. Don’t spoil the story.

I was just going to tell them about-

Hey, look at that, it’s time for the first question!

*rolls eyes*

So to start off, we, you, have five questions from Chloe!!!! She’s awesome and is great at coming up with questions. (Thanks for the amazing questions chloe!!)

Hey, Sylvie! It’s so nice to talk with you! Mind if I ask a few little soul searching questions? 😉

Well, I’m kinda being forced here against my will-

*Hisses at Sylvie to JUST ANSWER THE QUESTION*

I wasn’t finished. I was going to add, “but sure, go right ahead.” *Gives Penelope a pointed look*

*rolls eyes*

Okay! When was the last time you tried something new?

Well, I just recently tried magic and that was pretty neat. I never really knew that magic existed before so it’s still pretty new, but I’m really wanting to experiment more with that. So many things I could do to Zev and he would never know that It’s me!

Who do you sometimes compare yourself to?

I don’t really compare myself to anybody. I haven’t really had anyone to compare myself to for a really long time.

*tries to hug Sylvie*

We’ll talk about it later and then you can give me a hug. *Pauses* With no one else around.

What’s the most sensible thing you’ve heard someone say?

I once had someone tell me that I should trust more, but every time I try it never really works out. It’s not in the story and I think you’ll see that I haven’t really put it to good practice, but maybe one day I will.

What important life lesson did you learn the hard way?

Hm, probably that you should have an escape plan before you try to steal something. That one back fired real bad, and would have been a lot worse if…

*Vigorously shakes head*

…. If not for a certain chain of events that I can’t tell you about.

What makes you excited about life? What does the opposite?

Ooh, that’s a cool question. I would say the thought that I can actually help people makes me pretty excited. And spiders make me not excited about life. *Shudders* they’ve got long legs and they jump and they are just so- so spidery.

Thanks again for the great questions Chloe!! I hope you enjoyed Sylvies answers. 🙂

Yeah, thanks for the questions!

So, Sylvie, now it’s time for my questions!

Your questions, that you aren’t making up on the spot because you actually thought them through and didn’t wait last second for?

*cough* Yeah, I definitely didn’t wait till the last second. They’re all planned out. *clears throat*

All right! My first question for you is, what is something you do in your down time?

Uh, you created me. You know I have like zero down time.

Just answer the question.

Fine, hmmmmm, I guess when I actually had free time *Glares at penelope* I would sew a lot and, if I could smuggle one out of the library, I would read every once in a while.

Cool, I will put “giving Sylvie more down time” on my agenda. My next question is how old are you? Because I’ve never really clarified that with you.

So you made me age-less?! I could be five years old and I wouldn’t know!

That’s not how it works, and no, I didn’t make you age less. The rules form the writing contest crealy state that your character must be between ages 12-19.

I still can’t answer the question-

*whispers age in Sylvies ear*

So apparently, I’m 16. I feel like I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT SOONER. *Gives Penelope another pointed look*

We can talk about this later. My next question is, What’s your biggest fear?

I’m pretty sure we already established this, but it’s spiders. I mean, have you ever been doing laundry and have a giant spider come out of the shirt you’re folding and then crawl down your leg? *shudders* Other than spiders I’m not really a fan of heights. I can handle them if it’s necessary, but I prefer to not be in high places.

*Makes mental note for future stories to have a lot of high places and spiders*

You know I can see that right?

Uuuuuh…. Moving on to the next question. What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s happened to you?

I’m adding your “mental note” to our list of things to talk about later.

The most embarrassing thing was probably when I tripped someone and… well you’ll see when you read the story.

Thank you for not almost spoiling the story again! Now, on to the last question. When you die, what do you want to be remembered for?

So before I answer i want to point out ot the people reading that you spent forty five minutes google icebreakers because you couldn’t think of a question-

*nerves laugh* That’s not important.

*shrugs* Okay, just figured they would want to know-

Just answer the question Sylvie!

Fine, I would want to be remembered for being there when people need me and for helping people. Like that spell I cast at the end-

Ssssshhhhh!!! They aren’t supposed to know about that spell yet!!! Stop spoiling things!!!

We’re done now right?

Yes, but that’s not the point, you almost spoiled the ending-

Okay then! I will see you all later then! Thank you Alexa for letting us use your blog and thank you Chloe for the actually good questions! Bye!

We are not done talking about this-

Add it to the list. I have something I was kinda in the middle of, so I’m gonna go finish that and we’ll “talk about this later.”

Uh… That’s not how I was gonna end this…. But I guess it’ll work…. Bye everyone! Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed it!

You hope I enjoyed it? I LOVED it! YOU GUYS. Wasn’t that amazing? *dies inside* I absolutely LOVED getting to know Sylvie better!! And you are SO welcome Penelope and Sylvie!! I had SO MUCH FUN having you here on the blog!!!!!!!!!! So y’all, check out Imagine and read Penelope’s story, Hidden Magic! If you don’t, you better bet I’m going to haunt your nightmares…

Go read the anthology because it’s AMAZINGLY FABULOUS AND THE BEST ANTHOLOGY IN THE WORLD!!! (Nothing more needs to be said XD)

*blog tour train whistles* Well, that looks like it is all the time I have here! HAVE AN AMAZING DAY EVERYONE!!!! *waves goodbye* *train pulls away*

IT IS THE DAY! The Imagine Blog Tour train has stopped here at AFH! So let’s cue that beautiful cover and blurb:

Coming September 21, 2021!

It’s time to imagine…

Go pre-order the e-book right now!

Did you do it? Did you pre-order the e-book? *narrows eyes* Well, you should do it or else Alexa’s going to come haunt you in your dreams. And better yet, the book will be available in both e-book and print format! So you can have a physical copy that you can hold IN YOUR HANDS. How cool is that?

Today I will be interviewing the fabulous VICTORIA!! Victoria is a fantastic gal whose story, ‘To Risk the Truth’ is also featured in the anthology! As I’ve come to know her over the past few years (just kidding, I haven’t known her for that long XD) I’ve found that she is the sweetest, funniest, most diligent person I’ve ever met! Y’all better go pop on her blog to see for yourself!! You can visit her right HERE!

Now onto the interview! *gives everyone snacks*

My questions are bolded and Victoria’s answers are (not bolded?) I just realized how weird that sounds.

#1. Was this the first time you’ve ever written a short story/poem? If so, what was something you learned through the process?

This actually wasn’t the first time I’ve written a short story! I’ve kind of been dabbling in writing since I was about 10 or 11 but have just gotten more serious about it in the past year or so. That said, there are a loooooot of written (and *coughs* mostly unfinished) short stories I’ve done. XD

#2. Where did you get the inspiration for your short story? Was it a particular song, book, or something else?

Hehe, so I have two answers for this one. 😉 The first thing that helped inspire my short story was the ocean! My fam and I were at the beach in June and I just remember looking out towards the water and feeling so amazed at how powerful and beautiful it was as the water crashed against the shore and stretched out farther than the eye could see. It really reflected how powerful God is for creating something like that!

The second thing that helped spark the idea for my short story, was the story of Queen Esther in the Bible. I had been kinda thinking about doing a retelling of a Bible story, but wasn’t sure how or which one to use. I can’t remember if I actually settled on doing that or not, but either way, I guess the story of Esther just stayed in the back of my head because you’ll see a loooot of similar elements from Esther weaving its way into mine. So, I guess it ended up becoming a Bible story retelling after all! XD

That’s so cool where you found your inspiration!!

#3. What has been one thing you’ve learned after going through the process to be published in the Imagine Anthology?

Y’all, I HANDS DOWN had no idea how much editing it takes for even just a 5,000 something word story. (Makes me wanna give a huge round of applause to all of my favorite authors for what they go through.) XD So, although it was a lot of work, I really enjoyed seeing my story morph from a second draft (I actually had my family give me feedback on it before I sent it into Teen Writers’ Nook #WayOverTheWordCountThere) ;P into a fifth and final draft!

#4. Can you give us a fun fact of something that happened during the writing and/or editing process? Hilarious typo? Weird fact you had to search? Best edit you received?

Oh hmmm, I’ll have to think on that one for a sec. *racks brain* Well, at one point I did way too much research on the speed of sound…along with mind boggling conversions from miles per hour to kilometers to hours and crazy stuff like that. (Mind you, I did NOT do that math by myself. I did it with my pet genie, Google.) XP Aaaand of course, I didn’t end up using any of it specifically in my story, but I did learn some pretty cool facts with how fast sound can go and that it’s way different (and slower) than the speed of light (which I may or may not have kept getting mixed up with each other.) XD

#5. Do you have any words of inspiration for other young authors?

  1. If you ever enter a writing contest ALWAYS make sure to read and REVIEW the rules constantly. (Let’s just say there’s an interesting story behind that in my case…) XD
  2. If possible, try not to end up waiting until 2-3 days before the contest deadline to write and submit your story. If you do though, then I will warn you: bleary computer screen eyes and a way too tired mind will be some lovely side effects. (If you’re a coffee drinker, then that may be your last hope.) XD
  3. Pray, pray, pray!!! Y’all, I’m tellin’ ya, if you’re having ANY trouble with your writing then just ask God to guide you and to show you what to do ‘cause He will! It may take some patience on your part and some days you may be ready to give up waiting for an answer, but He will give you one in His perfect timing and probably through ways you don’t expect! 😉

Y’all, Victoria is the gal to go to when you need advice!

#6. Outside of writing, what do you like to do for fun?

I love to read (obviously) XD, listen to music, play the piano and guitar, hang out with my family, watch movies and TV shows, ummm…what else…OH, well duh. I love to blog! XDD So yeah, that’s pretty much it!

#7. Have you ever been published before?

I have, actually! In 2018, I wrote a short story/fanfiction thing for a writing contest hosted by author Susan K. Marlow. I ended up tying in third place (which I wasn’t even expecting to win a place at all) XD and it got published in a book with all of the other winning stories. You can find it on Amazon (it’s called Into the Sunset 2018 Contest Winners) buuut, hehe, that’s the amauter work of me at a pretty young age so I’d advise caution reading it. XD (And in all honesty, I feel like I got “more published” in Imagine since I had a say of the final product and went through the edits. With Into the Sunset I think Susan K. Marlow did all of the edits herself and all I did was write the first draft of a story.) XD

Now I know what I’m going to read this afternoon! XD

#8. What was your favorite part of writing your story and why?

Auuugh, WHY this question?!?! Oh wait, I made it up…eheh. Let’s seeeee….I guess my favorite part was writing my main character. I don’t wanna say too much out of spoiling the story, but let’s just say her worldview is one that I haven’t dabbled in before and it was interesting trying my hand at creating the thoughts and opinions one might have with that worldview. I know, that probably sounds super confusing, but if you read my story it might make more sense. 😉

#9 What was one of the toughest struggles you’ve had as a writer and how did you overcome it?

Oh, DEFINITELY finding the time to write. Which…I’m still in the process of trying to overcome that. XD Juggling life and writing can be really hard especially if you’re super busy so I’m working on how to balance both right now.

Who can relate? *raises hand* ME! Balance is such a hard thing in life, I’m sure only a couple of humans on this earth have mastered it. XP

#10 What is one message you want readers to take away from your story?

That God is the greatest being in existence and no one can ever be more powerful than Him. It’s just a fact, really. I mean, can you create an entire universe out of nothing by speaking a single word? (‘Cause I know I sure can’t.) XD It’s pretty humbling too, knowing that our lives are literally in God’s hands and He could kill each of us in less than a blink of an eye if He wanted to. However, He doesn’t do that because He loves us even when we don’t act very lovable. (Which is probably a really hard thing to do.) XD

You said it perfectly!

Oh my gosh guys, weren’t Victoria’s answers amazing? *gives Victoria chocolate* THANK YOU SO MUCH for letting me interview you, girl!!!!!! It was a blast!!!! Now y’all, if you want to see yours truly featured on Victoria’s blog on the 20th, you can pop on over to her site right here! (I know, I know, I can barely wait either!!!!!) 😉

A Sneak Peek | The Legend of Tanith Behind the Scenes

The day has arrived. After waiting a couple of agonizing months, The Legend of Tanith Behind the Scenes post is here! *cue all the dancing* Aww, this post brings me back to the good ‘ole days.

Let’s start by apologizing for how late this post is! Life has just been ripping up at me the past few days. I’m sure y’all can relate. XD

Second, I want to thank Blue, Victoria, Diamond, Sabrina, Rayna, Issabelle, Katherine, and Chloe for submitting questions! Y’all, this post would not be alive without you. *showers you with candy* Now, let’s get started!

The first round of questions are from Blue! Thank you so much for submitting some!

What inspired you to name the roleplay ‘The Legend of Tanith’? I mean, why ‘Tanith’?

Ooh, that’s a very good question!! Honestly this was the part that wasn’t coming together when I first planned this series. I COULD NOT find a name! I had a couple of names I originally thought of but trust me, those weren’t as awesome. So one day, I was scrolling along Pinterest and found an image that reminded me a bit of what Rae looks like.

Tanith | Female character names, Pretty names, Character names
(Not mine)

And bam, I decided to name my roleplay series ‘Tanith.’ Note: The name has nothing to do with the definition. XD

How did you make it? The plot? The setting? What inspired it?

My cousins inspired it! I was roleplaying with them and I decided I loved it so much I would share it with y’all!

Thank you so much Blue! And now onto Victoria’s questions!

How much time in advance did you start planning The Legend of Tanith?

I actually had been thinking about it for a while but I didn’t start officially planning until the beginning of June. #procrastinator

What inspired you to do a roleplay in the first place?

My cousins inspired it a lot. They helped me through it by making fanart and sat through the long five hours of roleplaying instead of doing other things. But before my cousins, I had always had a love for D&D and so I thought I would create my own version.

How did you come up with the different roles (i.e. Healer, Guardian, Mage?)

Honestly, I don’t know. Somehow I just imagined them up. I figured I wanted everyone to have a special part and that’s when I decided on the roles.

What was the hardest part about hosting a roleplay?

Oh, the time commitment for sure! I was spending 3-4 hours on the computer per day just for the roleplay series.

Thank you so, so much Victoria for submitting questions! Here are Diamond’s questions!

Was it hard writing an interactive series?

Yes ma’am. It was very hard.

But so worth it.

How many comments did you get during this time?

Ahhh, math! XD Oh wait, there’s a special thing in my stats so I don’t have to add!

A whopping 1,312 comments! (But I did have to respond to a lot of them)

All part of the fun!

What was your biggest inspiration?

D&D, my cousins, and Teen Author Boot Camp!

Thanks, Diamond! Onto Sabrina’s questions!

Did you write all the posts before starting the series? If yes, did you later make some changes to the posts?

I did have about half of all the posts written before the series, but since things in a roleplay change so much, I had to keep it pretty open because I knew we would change course a bit. But generally, we did stay on a similar path as I predicted so I didn’t have to make too big of changes to the posts.

How did you think of the Legend of Tanith?

Just by using my imagination! (And the internet for inspiration XD)

Before announcing the Legend Of Tanith, did you doubt it’s success?

DEFINITELY. Okay, well I didn’t 100% doubt its success but I wasn’t confident that so many people would participate. Honestly, I estimated about 5-6 bloggers. *sheepish smile*

Those were awesome questions, Sabrina! Now here are some from Rayna!

How did you think of hosting a roleplay on your blog?

One day, there was a girl who was going along her merry little way and suddenly she had this brilliant idea! (Betcha can’t guess who this girl is…) 😆

What did you love most about hosting it?

I loved interacting with all of you! I found it so exciting to see what you guys came up with and how your characters acted.

Was there something you wish you’d done differently?

Yes, there was quite a bit of things I wish I’d done differently. In my defense, it was my first roleplay so I guess there is lots that I want to change. Let’s just say that the next roleplay series will run a little smoother and efficiently. *cough*

Thank you very much, Rayna! *bows* Onto Issabelle’s questions!

Where did you first get the idea?

When I started roleplaying with my cousins, everything was just coming from my imagination. I didn’t prepare for it at all. And in a way, they sort of paved the trail for TLT. I took a few elements from my cousin roleplay (Yep, that’s what it is called now XD) and added them to this roleplay. Then after a few sleepless nights, I was finally able to get this all together and working!

Were there any problems in setting it up?

There was a point where I was stuck. I had no idea where to go from there. And that turned into a panic that I wouldn’t be able to finish the roleplay series in time and everything spiraled down from there.

But hey, I’m still alive!

What was the best part in putting together and hosting this series?

Aww, the best part? I really loved reading all the fight scene responses! Oh and the first post of the series was definitely a banger. I remember sitting on my laptop, shaking with excitement as all the comments and chatting came in. I even called a friend to explain how exciting this was!

Did you have any help?

And that’s actually something I regret: doing it all alone. Now I know for next time.

When’s the next one?

*slaps forehead* Geez, I knew this question would come up. No offense to you Issabelle. XD *huffs* Fine, I’ll tell y’all. I don’t have any exact dates but I’m planning the next one for December. (This isn’t final. Yet.)

Lovely questions, Issabelle! Here’s Katherine’s questions!

What first sparked the idea for the roleplaying game?

D&D for sure. And the internet. (You guys, Google did something nice to me for once! XP)

What was the inspiration for the eyepatch guy?

*crickets chirp*

I think by the time I had created the rest of the roleplay series, I had no imagination left for the eyepatch dude. XD So I just brought him over from my “cousin roleplay” to this roleplay.

What was your favorite part of the game?

Ahh, I loved all of it! But if I had to choose, I really loved all the fighting scenes and the market part!!!

Thank you so much, Katherine! And here’s Chloe’s questions!

What was your inspiration for the name of Rae and Tanith?

Well you guys already know the inspiration for the name of Tanith but Rae’s name was inspired by this lady right here:

Star Wars Rey GIF - Star Wars Rey The Rise Of Skywalker GIFs

How did you come up with the plot for the roleplay?

How does anyone come up with a plot for a story, I do not know. Let’s just say it takes a lot of “shower moments.” *cheesy smile*

Are you planning on doing one of these again? If so, when? Will it be a yearly tradition, or just whenever you feel like?

The next roleplay is coming in December! Be on the lookout! 😉 And to answer your last question, I don’t know. I’m just rolling with it. 😎

Was Rae’s backstory a big thing to the plot intentionally?

Yes and no? As I was understanding Rae a bit more and her backstory, I decided to throw a bit of it into the roleplay so you would understand her motives a little better.

But there’s still a whole lot you don’t know about her…

*evil cackling*

Did you have this planned out super thoroughly, or did you kinda just “wing it”?

*sheepish smile*

What would’ve happened if we had lost?

Oh, you really want to know that? Well if you had taken a different path…

Let’s just say that some of us wouldn’t have made it out alive.

Thank you all so much for tuning in! I hope this post gave you a little sneak peek into the making of The Legend of Tanith! And before I sign off, I have another EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT!!

Hmm, do any links look familiar?

Yep, that’s right. A very special blog tour is coming to YOU!!!! Stay tuned!

You really thought this was the end, didn’t you? Well you’re wrong. This is just the beginning.

Welcome to the Games.

Can You Relate? | 5 Relatable Writing Problems [WIP Update!]

Hello besties!! *waves to all* I’m back!

Im Back Woody GIF - Im Back Woody Toys Story2 GIFs

(Yes, I have to include a “I’m back” gif…)

And I brought with me a fun packed post! Now, you may be wondering, where’s the TLT post?? Ah yes, I knew you would ask that question. Well, that post will officially be the next post!! (for real this time!) If you haven’t submitted questions for this post, you can do so HERE! Even if you were just a spectator, feel free to submit questions!

Now, let’s get into today’s post! Here are five relatable writing problems for you!

#1 When you sit down to write but realize you forgot all your notes in another room.

This happens to me ALL THE TIME!! I’ll go to write and realize I left all my plotting notes in a different room. So, I’ll go to fetch them, sit down, and write. Then later in the day, I’ll go to write in a different spot and realize I left the notes in the spot before.

It’s a real problem.

#2 Today I’m going to write! NOT.

Does this ever happen to you? (Because it always seems to happen to me!) You say in the morning: oh I’m going to be really productive today and get a lot of words written in my novel!

*night falls*

*sheepish smile*

*realizes all the days that I could’ve been productive but wasn’t*

*realizes how many words I COULD HAVE written*

*face palm*

#3 You hop on Pinterest to look up something real quick and end up wasting an hour of writing time.

Scroll Scrolling GIF - Scroll Scrolling Addiction GIFs

YES, YES, YES, YES!! I relate to this one A TON!! I’ve wasting so many hours scrolling through Pinterest. Or the internet. (I get distracted easily, okay?)

*composes self*

Okay, I really need limit myself on these types of things. But that’s nearly impossible! There’s just too much creative stuff on there! 😍

#4 You spend more time making graphics than writing.

I totally don’t do this…

But, while we are on the subject, if you want to see some awesome graphics from my WIP and read an interview from one of my characters, click HERE!

Excuse me?

*sighs* What Wren? What do you want this time?

When are you going to interview me? I’m the main character of your book after all.

Dude, your time will come.

Can we do it now?

Since when did you want to be interviewed? I thought you would rather be out doing “dangerous” stuff.

Since I got a ton of fans on here. It’s like I’m a celebrity.

Go away.

No, ma’am. I’m staying put.

Excuse me, bloggers, while I deal with this problem.

*walks away*

2 minutes later…

*comes back*

There. That’s solved. (Don’t ask what I did…) XD Which leads us to our next problem.

#5 You enjoy torturing your characters.

*rubs hands evilly* No offense to you Wren, but that’s what us writers do. We have to keep the story interesting! And that’s the only way to do it, making you go through rough stuff.

That’s a wrap! Well, first, I have to update y’all on my WIP. It’s going great! *cough*

Actually, I’ve been taking a break. I have been spending too much time on it so I decided to shift my focus to another project for a bit. I’ve also been making a lot of graphics lately. *hides in corner* *smiles*

The day has arrived!! Are you ready to see the fabulous Imagine cover? Ready to enter a giveaway or see some amazing graphics? Come join me as I announce tons of exciting news!!

Yo guys. I think this post might win the award for the most ExCiTiNg information in one post! If you’ve read the title, you’ll know that the first thing on our agenda is the COVER REVEAL FOR IMAGINE!!!! That’s right peeps!! My short story, Sparks, was accepted into the TWN anthology book and today, August 24th is the BEST DAY EVER! It is cover reveal time!!!

For their 100 followers celebration, Teen Writers’ Nook announced that they were publishing their own book, a collection of short stories by the TWN family! Teen Writers’ Nook is a FABULOUS place for all writers, bloggers, dreamers, and everyone in between. The three lovely gals over there are AMAZING!! So, if you are writing a book or wanting to start writing a piece of literature, jump on over there! You WILL NOT regret it!

Before I show you the cover, here’s the book blurb!

Such a small word for such a huge impact it has. Every great story begins here—in that moment after the idea but before the story is completed. The spark. The vision. The idea that will expand into a story that clings to reader’s hearts for a lifetime.

Thrilling adventures, daring choices, inspiring messages, heartfelt romances, and everything in between. Maybe—just maybe—these tales will have you journey past reality and to the depths of your imagination. Will you take the risk and embark through the pages of this book?

Alaine Darkwood, Alexa Peterson, Allie Jo Andersen, Britt Chao, Chloe B. Christensen, Faith Elizabeth, Grace A. Johnson, Grey S. Park, Linyang Zhang, Lorelei Angelino, Penelope Rugan, Selah Sigmon, Victoria Crooks, and V. L. Smith!

Flora’s Entry

I stopped at my feet, for the class, which I’ve never met before, was standing right in front of me. New day, new year, new school. My nerves were creeping up on me. ‘You can do this,’ I said as I took a deep breath. A beaming smile spread across my face… I can do this.

Diamond’s Entry

Chloe’s Entry

And that’s it! Have a lovely day peeps!

Interviewing Baeli: A Character in My Latest WIP

Hi peeps! Today, I’ve brought a super good friend of mine that happens to be Wren’s friend as well. I thought it would be a blast to interview her so you guys can get to know her better!

Let’s jump in! But wait! Don’t forget that the Back to School contest is due tomorrow! Click HERE for more information if you are interested in entering. FYI, this is a very lowkey contest!

Before I bring in this special person, I think she deserves a proper introduction, don’t you think? This friend of mine, Baeli, is one of the most thoughtful people I’ve met. She’s ONE of the main characters in my WIP but not THE main character. (That job is left to Wren.)

Ladies and gentlemen, here’s Baeli!

(Baeli’s answers will be italicized and mine will be bold.)

Hi Baeli! Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to join me on the blog!

You bet! I didn’t have anything else to do and besides, I thought it would be super cool to meet your blogging friends.

Well, they are some of the best people in the world! Now, let’s get started with the first question: What is your full name?

Baeli. That’s my full name. I do have a last name but I try to forget it. It’s not a last name I’m proud of having.

Yeah, I can agree with you on that one. Do you have any siblings?

Nope. I’m an only child.

That sucks.

I know.

How old are you?

Where do you live now, and with whom?

Well, as of recently, I moved into a top secret hideout. I’ve sworn to keep secrecy so I can’t tell you anymore information.

“Don’t worry about it. I can see where you are coming from. You’ve hated my kind all your life and now that I’m here, you’ve been forced to trust me and let me reside here.”

Aww, really? Dang it, I wanted some new secrets to keep. Okay, now we are going to jump out of the basic questions and jump into some more random ones. On what occasions do you lie?

I don’t really like to lie. I prefer not to lie. BUT, I will lie to keep my loved ones safe.

Perfect answer. Are you right or left handed?

Ooh! Are you optimistic or pessimistic?

Optimistic. Why not always try to find the good in something?

Wow. I really need to take some life lessons from you. What is your favorite color?

White. It represents purity and innocence. And I always try to be innocent and not get into trouble.

Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?

I prefer to have a plan. Especially where I live and what I do, you need to have a plan.

Does that mean you are a spy?

Umm, not exactly a spy but I go on secret missions.

“Leave the guns. I won’t help your wounded bird if you bring the guns in.”

Secret missions?

If I told you, they wouldn’t be so secret.

*Huffs* fine. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?

Introverted. Well, extroverted to some people.

Okay now, we are going deep. How would you describe your childhood?

Nothing magical. Just a child and two parents trying to survive. And then about halfway through my childhood, it was just one person trying to survive. Don’t ask where the other two people went.

What is your greatest regret?

Not saving someone’s life.

What is your greatest fear? Which other person knows about this fear of yours?

I have several fears but I’m not going to list my greatest one. But, I do have a fear of needles. And Wren definitely knows about this one. *cough*

“Would you hold my hand? I know that sounds really weird to ask but I need something to squeeze. Otherwise, I’m going to end up punching someone.”

What do you want most in life?

For everyone to be happy. That’s my goal. And I’m still working on it.

What a beautiful goal! Are you a glass-half-full or glass-half-empty kind of person?

Half full.

And that will wrap it up! Thanks so much for joining me!

No problem! I enjoyed it!

That’s all for today! Thank you so much for tapping into this post and I hope you enjoyed it!
